Let’s Design Your Birthday Session
Reach out approximately 6-8 weeks before your baby’s first birthday to begin planning. Together we will discuss your vision — the theme, the color palette,the wardrobe — and I will reserve your session date.
Session Day: The Big Smash
I begin every session with a gentle formal portrait segment — capturing your one-year-old at their most beautifully styled. Then the most delicious chaos unfolds. Some babies dive in immediately, others approach the cake with cautious wonder, others need a little encouragement, and a small few want absolutely nothing to do with the frosting. I photograph every reaction with the same care, because every reaction is a true reflection of who your baby is at this exact moment.
Your Planning Consultation: Theme, Styling & All the Details
Once your session is reserved, we move into the design phase together. We will finalize your theme and color palette, I will hand-select wardrobe and accessories with you, design the backdrop and props. I will also share guidance preparing for the session — including a small note about exposing your baby to a little sweetness ahead of time, so the cake itself is not the very first taste.
Your Gallery Reveal: The Sweetest Memories, Forever
Approximately one week after your session, I will invite you to your private gallery reveal to view the imagery and select your favorites for final artwork. I will then personally edit each chosen image. Cake smash imagery looks particularly stunning printed large or assembled into a dedicated first birthday album — a piece your child will love looking through long into their own childhood. Final pieces are typically delivered within two to four weeks of your selection.
